Grief is most likely the most intense form of sorrow we will endure in our lifetime. It requires the companionship and compassion of fellow human beings who are also sharing loss. The ISD Grief Support Group offers a safe place for you to confidentially share your grief, your pain of loss, and fully express your emotions. We will walk alongside each other, listen and share from the heart, be present to each other’s pain and bear witness to our individual struggles. We will honor and respect one another’s grief experience without judgment. The grief journey is a difficult one, but it must be attended to. Sharing the journey with fellow travelers to guide and support you helps to soften the pain and bring hope back into your life.

Our first project is “Project Night Night” - making stuffed animals and blankets for homeless children. We can all look back on our childhood and recall a favorite stuffed animal or blanket that had to be with us at bedtime. Add a book to the mix and give a child a little love and comfort during a stressful time.
Teachers and yarn will be available for first-time crochetiers and knitters!

Do you knit, crochet, quilt, weave…..? Please join us to make items for those in need. When something is made with love it carries that love and healing energy with it to its recipient. We will meet once a month to share our work and our ideas.
