Tai Chi w/Qigong
A more traditional approach to Tai Chi with longer routines and differing movement patterns, the ‘yang style’ offers many beautiful forms that are a joy to learn. The class also introduces a taste of several other stylistic approaches to Tai Chi, as well as Qigong exercises, to help students keep an open focus.
Geared for more active beginners, the class will cover many Tai Chi forms in addition to the ‘Tai Chi for Health’ programs, including: the Beijing 24, parts of the Yang long form, Sun style forms, the Animal frolics, Tai Chi Yoga and isolated Tai Chi movements, beginner through intermediate levels.
Qigong
Chi is your vital energy within, and Qigong are exercises designed to reach and activate that energy. Through breath, movement and visualization, Qigong improves overall health.
The class will touch on exercise methods that use postures and movements to stimulate and draw in chi, as well as specific exercises that can release stagnant chi. Qigong literately means “energy work”.
This will be a fun part of each class, and we will cover many varieties of Qigong routines. Featuring: Yi Gun Gin (posture strengthening exercises), Meridian Qigong, Spring Rain Cleanse, Five Elements Qigong, Tai Chi Yoga, Yiquan stillness training and more.
